I will be graduating from University of California, Los Angeles in June with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. I included enough Accounting courses in my two years in UCLA to earn Accounting minor, even though I’m not in the minor program.
The courses in Economics and Accounting that I took have prepared me for the technical aspect of this position. I am able to absorb new information quickly, to work under pressure, and to meet datelines. I have also gained ample research experience while working on various research papers for the courses that I have taken.
My job as a Recreation Leader trained me to interact and work with the general public both individually and in a group setting. Recreation Leaders are, in essence, the City’s customer service, since we deal directly with the public. I have also gained precious experience working in an office environment while working for the City of Monterey Park’s Finance department.
During my time in junior college, I also offered private tutoring for high school and junior college students. Tutoring had challenged me to express ideas and knowledge in a way that is understandable to others. For the past year, I have also been helping my father with his furniture store on the weekends, an experience that has honed my sales skills.
