Reports: Maintenance crew Superindendent, maintenance facilities
BAND: 6a (included in the General bargaining unit)
Salary: $34,05 on $35.17 an hour (based on 37.5 hours per week, 12 hr)
Rotations-Schicht)

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the maintenance crew Superintendent for maintenance facilities, is the successful candidate for the implementation of the maintenance, repairs, installations and inspections of sanitary systems at Edmonton International Airport and its satellite airports responsible including the domestic, drainage, fire, gas and hydraulic systems. The role includes emergency and other tasks as required even at short notice.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

·          Alberta or Interprovincial Red Seal journeyman plumber and Gasfitter is required
·          3 Years experience in the construction of maintenance is regarded as an asset
·          Are preferred candidates with certification as a building operator “A” and/or the 4th class power engineering; Knowledge of HVAC systems is an asset
·          The ideal candidate is a self starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
·          Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·          Need effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated excellent customer service skills
·          Strong organizational skills, have to adjust including ability to identify and to changing priorities along with effective time management
·          Best security management and compliance with the safe working practices are required
·          Have valid class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent)
·          Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate airport screening, and airport operator vehicle permit (AVOP) is required
·          Necessary, four working 12-hour day or rotatory night shift, and five from timeline work
·          Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport security check and acceptable criminal record check is required
